Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old and currently located in the United States to create or use an account, publish a puzzle, or contribute research data during the United States beta. Public pages may be browsed worldwide. You must truthfully confirm this eligibility and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

ARC Playground is a research platform where people solve, create, publish, review, and discuss abstract reasoning puzzles. Authenticated puzzle play is offered as part of that research platform, and collection of the documented solve-process data below is a condition of authenticated play. Features may change as the platform develops. We may restrict activity that threatens the service, other users, research integrity, or applicable law.

You retain any copyright you hold in an original puzzle. When you affirmatively publish a puzzle, you make that published version available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). It permits sharing and adaptation for any purpose, including commercially, subject to attribution and its other terms. The license is irrevocable while its terms are followed.

You authorize ARC Playground to host, reproduce, format, distribute, archive, and include the puzzle in datasets and APIs consistent with CC BY 4.0. Creator credit is public by default. You may opt out of your profile byline in future displays and exports, but this does not revoke a license already granted or require recall of prior copies.

Publish only content you created or have authority to license. Disclose material AI assistance and known prior publication when asked. Do not submit confidential information, personal data embedded in a puzzle, infringing content, malware, or deceptive benchmark manipulation. Official ARC tasks retain their upstream licenses.

ARC Playground records puzzle and version identifiers, checks, correctness, assistance, timing, progress, ratings, reviews, and semantic solve-process events such as cell edits, puzzle tools, undo/redo, output-grid checkpoints, attempts, and focus or idle periods. These records operate the service and support the platform's primary research purposes: studying human reasoning, validating and calibrating puzzle difficulty, distinguishing human and automated activity, protecting dataset integrity, and developing benchmarks.

Eligible records may be pseudonymized and included in public datasets or shared with research partners, including commercial organizations. Stable keyed identifiers are pseudonyms, not a promise of legal anonymity. Research release is enabled by default. Account Settings lets you opt out of future unpublished releases; core solve-process collection remains required for authenticated play. This does not waive any statutory privacy right.

The research trace is not designed to collect arbitrary keystrokes, raw pointer movement, unrelated clipboard contents, session-replay video, camera or audio, precise location, email, profile name, or raw IP address.

Dataset releases are versioned, immutable snapshots. Opting out of future release or deleting an account removes eligible account-linked data and credit from future snapshots, but cannot recall a snapshot already public or copies received by third parties. Corrections create a new version.

Do not interfere with the service, evade rate limits, automate human-designated activity without disclosure, impersonate others, evade geographic restrictions, violate another person's rights, or harm availability. We may remove content, exclude activity from research, suspend accounts, or preserve evidence needed to protect the community and dataset integrity. If you send product feedback, you permit ARC Playground to use it without a payment obligation, while retaining any rights you may have in it.

ARC Playground is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Research scores, ratings, labels, and datasets may contain mistakes and are not professional advice. Nothing here limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You may stop using the authenticated service if you do not want future core research capture, and you may delete your account through Account Settings. We may suspend access for material violations, security risk, geographic ineligibility, or legal requirements. Licenses already granted, published-snapshot treatment, and provisions that must survive continue after termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent a dispute may be placed in a particular court, it must be brought in a state or federal court located in New York County, New York. This does not limit any consumer right or legal remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.
